As a parent, you are your child’s first teacher and most influential teacher. What you do in the years before your child starts school has a huge impact on his or her school and life success.
To support you in this vital role, the Parents As First Teachers scheme has operated in the King’s Wood area for over twelve years. Qualified project workers offer regular personal visits to parents with children from pre-birth to three years, providing child development information and suggestions for play and learning. Parents are also welcome to attend fortnightly group meetings.
